Life according to my iPhone…

We play lots of Scrabble and UNO.

We found the best new Mexican place in Asheville, Papas and Beer. They have a salsa bar with 8 different kinds and the burritos are the size of your head. So good!

It snowed two weekends ago. Not enough to actually do anything in it, but it still stuck!

Olive likes to be up close and personal in the mornings. I’m ok with that.

She also likes having a faux hawk and playing WOW.

She got a hair cut…or a blow out.

Homemade chicken gyros, homemade tzatziki sauce and vino for Valentine’s dinner.

We’ve had a few warmer days and taken advantage by going on some walks in the park down the road.

Getting to go to Columbia last weekend let me see these two cute pups!

Also, got to go through a bunch of stuff when I was little. Proof I wanted to be a hamburger when I grew up and lots of art work.

Gourmet Shop for lunch with the sisters. Mmm, so good.

And then I slipped down the stairs once we got home and hurt myself. Typical.

The nice weather gave me Spring fever. Windows down & pretty flowers for our house. Can’t wait for nice weather to stay!

And last, but not least, my two favorites! (And new favorite picture ever.)

.photo.a.day. (February: 2nd full week)

13. Blue. (Blue skies, blue kitty head, blueberries.)

14. Heart. (Happy Valentine’s from the best app ever.)

15. Phone.
(My poor phone. Can’t wait to get my iPhone finally on the 28th.)

16. Something new. (Looking for new places to live because of our stupid landlord. Hopefully we won’t have to move.)

17. Time. (Best time of the day ever. TGIF.)

18. Drink. (Cheers with my sister at my Nanny and I’s birthday celebration over the weekend in Columbia with the family.)

19. Something you hate to do. (Drive in the rain. Mostly because no one else can drive in the rain.)

Absolutely beautiful.

twism:

Here are some photos of Adele from the March issue of Vogue. In an interview with the magazine, all of which you can read here, Adele talked about her vices, being “loud and bolshie”, her throat problems, the man who inspired 21, loving Beyonce, her new boyfriend Simon Konecki, as well as how she really wants to get married and have kids. Wow are these photos of Adele gorgeous or what?! Hope things go well her way! I absolutely love her!

6. Dinner. (Soup & grilled cheese.)

7. Button.
(Shoulder buttons and a ghost face.)

8. Sun. (Downtown Asheville on the way to pick up Mark from work.)

9. Front door. (Our porch is messy.)

10. Self portrait. (Chick-fil-a drive thru for lunch. Mmm.)

11. Makes you happy. (First actual snow since we moved to Asheville! Fresh puppy paws and snow on the ground.)

12. Inside your closet. (I have the whole left side and middle. Sorry, Mark.)

Flashback Friday.

Warning: This post contains some embarrassing photos of me younger. But I’ve come to terms with being a nerd when I was little, and accepted it.

The Babysitters Club.

So, I used to be totally obsessed with these books. Like, as in I had pretty much every book almost. (Even the Super Specials and Super Mysteries.) I remember going to book stores or yard sales with my parents and seeing books I didn’t own and begging my mom to get them for me.

Not my collection, but probably close (if not more) of how many books I had. I’m pretty sure I had that postcard book in the far bottom right as well.

They came out with the tv show (which I can still remember the theme song to)…

and then the movie (which I still own on VHS and had the cassette tape soundtrack). I think I can still quote this movie. Oh, Rachel Leigh Cook and the girl that played Alex Mack.

Yep, that was me. I was a huge nerd when I was little.

Point proven. Big glasses. Cool Christmas sweater AND turtleneck. Big bow. My nanny robot invention in 3rd grade.

Oh, and let’s not forget this awesomness…

That would be me again. Jorts and all. I won the poster contest for the Tornado Safety Contest. I believe that says 1995, making me 10 years old. (I would like to stop right now and thank whoever invented contacts and braces. That is all.)

So, attention back to the Babysitter’s Club. (I know it’s hard to look away from the big glasses and jorts.) Of course my favorite when I was little was Kristy. (The tomboy who played softball…ha.) My cousins and I used to use fake names when we were little and mine was always Kristy. But then again, was me when I was little, a tomboy. I used to go fishing at our pond with my dad and love to play outside until the sun went down.

Point proven again. (Although, I did play softball on a co-ed team for 3 years before I moved to Asheville. If you know me, that’s pretty impressive. I am not the most coordinated person. There was a lot of falling. But I got to be a pretty good catcher. The umpire loved me. But that was probably because he got to stare at my butt while standing behind me at home plate.) Off track…

I think as I grew a little older, I liked Claudia better. She was the artsy one. And that made me want to be artsy. And look at my now…graduated from USC with an Art Studio (focus in photography) major, a photographer at an auction gallery, love to make things, take pictures, decorate and super crafty.

Yep, I may still wear glasses from time to time. But at least they’re suited for my face. And yes, I’m still a nerd at heart. There’s nothing like a good book to keep my company.

So, this post is a big thank you to Ann N. Martin for making me fall in love with reading a young age.

Hahahaha, this picture just made my day.

Super kinda (really) excited for this line. Let’s hope it looks as good on as in the photos. (That never seems to happen.) Check out the rest of the preview on Target Style! Lots of fun colors and cute things.

.photo.a.day. (End of January/Beginning of February)

I was so sad January was ending because that meant no more photo-a-day, but low and behold February had one as well! I hope it continues each month for the whole year. (I mean December will be the end of the world so I need some photos to remember my life, right?)

January:

30. Nature.
(I feel like since I moved to the mountains, I’m surrounded by nature 24/7…and I absolutely LOVE it. This was just on the way home from work that afternoon…)

31. You, again. (Goodbye January. Hellllllo, February. aka the best month only because my birthday is this month.)

February:

1.  Your view today. (Fixing photos all day, err’day. Our catalog was supposed to be due that day, but we were a little behind.)

2. Words. (Part of my office wall at work.)

3. Hands. (I make a million lists every day and have post-its everywhere. And sometimes, you just need a Coke in a glass bottle to make the day better.)

4. A stranger. (It was Saturday and didn’t go anywhere all day. Instead, I cleaned the entire house and my closet out (filling up two large trash bags of clothes I never wear). To keep me company, I watched Breakfast At Tiffany’s for the first time ever. A stranger to me…a lovely stranger.)

5. 10am. (This is what mornings usually look like: a dog in my face/crawling on me to see if I’m awake.)

Oh yeah, that.

So remember when I went antiquing and bought those old ads? I finally got around to hanging them up this past weekend. They were a weird size (10x13) and I could not find 8 black frames of the same style & size anywhere. Michael’s randomly had a sale of 50% off all their frames the day I was looking and I could only find 8 white frames. So low and behold, duh…spray paint. This was more annoying than thought. But hey, I now have 8 black framed vintage ads hanging above my couch. And it is quite cute I might add. (I wish we weren’t renting so we could paint…but that’ll change some day.)

Step 1. Bought old vintage magazine ads.

Step 2. Bought frames.

3. Lay frames out.

4. Spray paint. (Of course my can of spray paint somehow got stuck and wouldn’t stop spraying so I had to spray all of them in multi coats until the paint ran out.)

5. Also, it was hard to get the sides & corners. So my random self came up with this solution to spray hard to reach places.

6. And the outcome:

It took me awhile to measure out where to place each frame, but luckily I am decent in basic math. Pretty straight and evenly spaced. I think it looks good!
